ABOUT
SDSU held a competition that was open to only the art students on campus for an opportunity to paint one of the benches in the performing arts plaza. My design was selected and I was one of the few that was able to leave my mark on the SDSU campus. The concept for my bench is to provide a place where students and visitors on campus to be able to gather a sense of free thought free from time and the crazes of life. My approach was to have a hand-done look to the bench instead of tracing the design perfectly first. I thought it would help to evoke a messier and swirling feel if every music note and tea cup had a different look and size.
